Organizing Syllabi and Course Packs for a New Semester
Department coordinators compile syllabi, reading lists, and supplementary materials from multiple instructors into standardized course packs. Documents arrive in inconsistent formats and need to be unified before distribution.
Workflow
- Collect syllabi and reading materials from each instructor (Word, PDF, scanned pages)
- Convert all non-PDF documents to PDF format
- Use the PDF Merger to combine materials into per-course packs
- Use the PDF Page Organizer to add a table of contents page and section dividers
- Use PDF Metadata Editor to set the course name, semester, and department as document properties
- Use PDF Compression to optimize for download from the department website
- Publish course packs on the department site and LMS
