About Edit PDF Metadata
View, edit, or strip metadata from PDF files. Change the title, author, subject, and keywords, or remove all metadata for privacy. Useful for cleaning up documents before sharing.
How It Works
The tool uses pdf-lib to read and modify PDF document info fields. In edit mode, you can set new values for title, author, subject, and keywords. In strip mode, all metadata fields are cleared and timestamps are removed.
Step by Step
- 1 Upload a PDF file
- 2 Choose Edit mode to modify fields, or Strip mode to remove all metadata
- 3 In Edit mode, fill in the fields you want to change
- 4 Click Update Metadata and download the result
Tips
- Strip mode is great for removing personal info before sharing documents.
- Title and Author are the most commonly used metadata fields.
- Leave fields empty in Edit mode to clear them individually.
- Keywords help with document search and organization.
