About Add Page Numbers

Add page numbers to your PDF document in various positions and formats. Choose bottom-left, center, or right alignment. Supports formats like plain numbers, 'Page X', and 'X of Y'.

How It Works

The tool uses pdf-lib to embed Helvetica font text at the bottom of each page. Page numbers are drawn as overlay text — existing content is not modified. You can customize the starting number, position, and format.

Step by Step

  1. 1 Upload a PDF file
  2. 2 Choose position (bottom-left, center, or right)
  3. 3 Select format (number, "Page X", or "X of Y")
  4. 4 Set the starting page number
  5. 5 Click Add Numbers and download

Tips

  • Bottom-center is the most common position for academic papers.
  • Use "X of Y" format for documents where total page count matters.
  • Set starting number to 0 if the first page is a cover.
